Avard Tenneyson Fairbanks was one of the most prolific sculptors of images of Abraham Lincoln during the middle of the 20th century. Two of his most famous Lincoln images are in Hawaii and at Lincoln's New Salem State Park near Springfield, IL. In this gallery I have also included two other statues by Fairbanks that are in the Chicago area. One is Lincoln the Friendly Neighbor in Berwyn, Illinois and the other is Lincoln the Lawyer located on Chicago's north side. The work in the plexiglass box is a large bust I photographed in Seattle. The box has been vandalized and egged. Wendy and I had to clean the egg before I could photograph it.
